Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Our Vision
We believe in a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Our Mission
Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
Our Story
Habitat for Humanity of the New River Valley was established in 1987. We are a nonprofit organization and a subsidiary of Habitat for Humanity International; a global non-profit housing organization, established in 1976.
We believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities and work to help families in the New River Valley build and improve places to call home. We welcome all religions, races, and nationalities to take part in this global vision.
HabitatNRV serves Radford City, Montgomery, Pulaski, Floyd, and Giles County. We work alongside our neighbors to build safe and affordable housing. In the New River Valley, one in three families pays over 30% of their monthly income to cover housing costs. We work to free them from this statistic by partnering with our local businesses, sponsors, and other community members utilizing donated materials and volunteer labor to build homes at a low cost, so we can provide an affordable mortgage.
